George Myers founded The Pantry in 1948 and set the standard of quality and excellence that has been associated with the restaurant for over sixty years. Many business deals, political decisions, and relationships have started in the dining rooms.
There have been seven different owner operators since its inception. Each has nurtured the restaurant, developed the loyal following, and brought it to where it is today. The current owners, the Singley Family, plan to continue the Pantry’s tradition of outstanding food with exceptional service for many years to come.
The Pantry specializes in old-fashioned, New Mexican comfort food. There are no lackluster options on the menu, regardless of whether you are hungry for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their breakfast burrito can’t be beat. It comes slathered in red and green chile, both if you order “Christmas.” Their cinnamon rolls are famous in Santa Fe. The Pantry isn’t ideal for dieters or anyone trying to eat light. If you don’t have a major appetite or second stomach, splitting your meal with a companion is feasible unless you want to take some home.

How I wish someone would open a cafe specializing in New Mexico seasoned food in Southern AZ. Many try, but it’s not the same…..
Seems like that would be feasible considering Hatch is fairly convenient to southern Arizona.
