From the author of GORKY PARK, a thriller, originally published in 1993, in which a soldier with powers of second sight is faced with a terrible decision when he is hired as the driver and bodyguard of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the leader of the atomic bomb project at Los Alamos.

Martin Cruz Smith’s first novel was released in 1970, but it was with the release of Gorky Park in 1981 that he seemed to start hitting his stride. He didn’t release another book until this one, Stallion Gate, in 1986. It takes place during the waning months of World War Two and is situated in New Mexico where the atomic bomb was finalized. There are physicists, army personnel, and various scientists galore.
