The Ladder Ranch
The Ladder Ranch is located in south central New Mexico and covers an incredible 156,439 acres (245 square miles). Their commitment to guest satisfaction and wildlife conservation is unparalleled. They offer luxury and experiential travel packages that far surpass other luxury ranches in the greater Southwest.
The expansive property of The Ladder Ranch is home to four tributaries of the Rio Grande River – the Animas, Seco, Palomas and Cuchillo streams. These streams support abundant flora, including sycamores and cottonwoods, and fauna such as Chiricahua leopard frogs and sensitive Rio Grande cutthroat trout. The ranch effectively serves as a wildlife refuge for many native New Mexican species.
Undoubtedly, the Ladder Ranch’s most distinguishing characteristics are its incredibly diverse and spectacular wildlife and its magnificent mix of ecosystems, ranging from desert grasslands to pine forests in the foothills of the Black Range Mountains. The Ladder Ranch offers perhaps one of the most authentic examples of experiential tourism.
Staying at The Ladder Ranch is like being in your own private park, complete with unforgettable vistas and a wildlife experience comparable only to national parks in the US. Ted Turner’s Ladder Ranch exudes “authentic” Southwest. Ted Turner and Jane Fonda decorated the home. There are numerous personal touches representing his countless experiences and adventures.
Upon entering the five bedroom, three bathroom private ranch house at Ladder, you’ll immediately notice its luxurious yet comfortable ambiance. The atmosphere facilitates authentic experiences for all guests, from celebrities to families to corporate groups.
There are three bedrooms on the main floor of the home. The master bedroom is the most impressive, with a four-poster king bed, beautiful en-suite bathroom and adjacent study. The living room is also on the first floor, with a wood-burning fireplace and flat screen television. It is a superb space for relaxation and memorable conversation. Additionally, there are two additional queen bedrooms, a 1950’s retrofitted kitchen, and an additional bathroom on the first floor. On the second floor of the house, you will find a truly special hideaway, outfitted with another queen bedroom and a separate room with three twin beds.
